"As an artist I'm interested in the medium / subject
interrelationship and how the marks and texture of a picture
can both capture and evoke emotion - be that positive or negative.
I enjoy using multiple disciplines, incorporating oil, acrylic,
pastel and charcoal into my work, and find it exciting to explore
a broad spectrum of diverse styles; ranging from detailed figurative
portraits, through expressionistic landscapes exploring light and
space, to pictures of a more abstract nature.
The common theme running through all my work is emotion
the emotion of the subject itself, the reaction stimulated in me
by that subject, and ultimately the emotional response of the
observer"
